Does anybody else always find themselves re-watching programmes they've seen about 50 times and can quote word for word and yet they still keep coming back to them? Because same. Mine always seems to be Friends, How I Met Your Mother and Gavin and Stacey. But in January I did try to make myself watch stuff that had been on my watch list for years. Here's what I managed to get through...
1. Making a Murderer
This documentary became popular years ago and I do remember trying to watch it but I've always said that I couldn't get into it and found it boring. But recently I've been getting into more murder and crime documentaries so thought I'd try it again and I LOVED it! I loved that it followed from Steven's first conviction in the 80's right up to now with all the court proceedings. I honestly don't know how people genuinely think they are guilty of committing the crime and I really am rooting for them both to be released.
8.5/10
2. Abducted In Plain Sight
I honestly still have no idea how half the stuff that happened to that poor girl happened. It was confusing and beyond belief right from the start and honestly I think I could watch it 50 times and still not understand how the parents let it happen and so frequently. If you want to spend an evening being completely confused and bewildered then I would recommend this documentary before anything else.
6.5/10
3. Doctor Who
We'd already watched up to season 9 last year but season 10 has only just been released onto Netflix so we decided to watch it. I thoroughly enjoyed the pairing of Capaldi with Mackie and thought their friendship was one of my favourites; it took me back to Tennant and Tate. I much prefer the doctor/companion relationships that don't revolve around them falling in love with the doctor. We then watched season 11 on BBC iPlayer and I'm not sure how I feel about Whitaker playing the doctor. Don't get me wrong, I love her as an actress and I can appreciate the producers trying to make doctor who more inclusive but I'm just not feeling it to be honest. We'll see with time though.
When I started this post I honestly thought I had watched more TV than I apparently have so that's a bit awkward... but anyway! I would definitely recommend checking out the programmes mentioned above! Let me know of any recommendations you have!
